Warranty Policy

GrafX Vinyl Wrap Warranty

GrafX stands behind the vinyl wrap materials we sell. Eligible GrafX automotive vinyl wrap products are covered by a limited product warranty for up to two (2) years from the original purchase date against confirmed material-related manufacturing defects under normal use and conditions.

This warranty applies to the vinyl film material only. It does not cover installation services, labor, removal, reinstallation, vehicle repairs, repainting, paint or clear-coat damage, loss of use, downtime, or other incidental or consequential costs, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Warranty Coverage

Standard Automotive Vinyl Wrap

Limited Warranty: Up to 2 Years

Eligible standard vinyl films may be covered for confirmed product-related defects, including:

  • Confirmed manufacturing defects
  • Confirmed film or adhesive defects
  • Unusual cracking attributable to a material defect
  • Abnormal peeling or adhesive failure attributable to the material
  • Other verified material failures occurring under normal use

Normal aging, environmental wear, and gradual changes in appearance are not considered manufacturing defects.

Specialty Finishes

Certain specialty films require different handling and are not covered by GrafX's standard 2-year performance warranty.

This includes:

  • Chrome finishes
  • 3D, 4D, and 5D carbon-fiber-style films
  • Other specialty finishes specifically identified as having limited or no performance warranty

These materials can be more sensitive to heat, stretching, scratching, installation technique, and environmental exposure.

However, arrival-related defects may still be reviewed if reported before the material has been cut, heated, stretched, installed, or otherwise altered.

Custom & Printed Vinyl

Custom and printed vinyl warranty claims are reviewed case by case.

Eligibility may depend on the nature of the issue, artwork approval, production, installation, handling, and conditions of use.

Inspect Your Material Before Installation

Please inspect your entire order before cutting or installing the material.

If the product appears damaged, incorrect, incomplete, or defective, stop and contact GrafX before cutting, heating, stretching, applying, or otherwise altering the film.

Arrival-related issues must be reported within 7 days of delivery.

Once material with an obvious pre-existing issue has been installed, cut, heated, stretched, or altered, GrafX may be unable to determine whether the issue existed before installation, which may affect warranty eligibility.

What Is Not Covered

The GrafX Limited Vinyl Wrap Warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from:

  • Improper or unsuccessful installation
  • DIY installation errors

  • Overstretching or improper tension
  • Overheating or improper post-heating

  • Installation over rust, corrosion, peeling or failing paint, damaged clear coat, dents, or unsuitable surfaces
  • Improper storage, transportation, handling, trimming, or cutting
  • Scratches, rock chips, road debris, accidents, vandalism, hail, flooding, storms, or other physical damage
  • Harsh chemicals, fuels, solvents, abrasive cleaners, degreasers, or incompatible detailing products
  • Improper pressure washing or automatic car washes

  • Burn marks, scorching, melting, or heat-related discoloration
  • Normal shrinkage, weathering, wear, or aging

  • Normal fading caused by sunlight or environmental conditions
  • Color differences caused by screens, photography, lighting, camera settings, or reasonable production-batch variation
  • Damage caused during removal
  • Paint peeling, clear-coat failure, or other vehicle paint damage
  • Installation, removal, reinstallation, repair, repainting, or other labor costs
  • Appearance-related dissatisfaction when the product is not confirmed to be defective

Installation Disclaimer

Unless specifically stated otherwise, GrafX sells automotive film and does not provide installation services.

Professional installation is strongly recommended.

Customers who choose to install material themselves assume responsibility for the installation process. When using an independent professional installer, customers are responsible for selecting a qualified installer, and the installer remains responsible for their workmanship.

Installation errors or damage caused by an independent installer are not GrafX product defects and are not covered by this limited material warranty.

GrafX may request an installer invoice, work order, installation photographs, or other proof of professional installation when necessary to evaluate a warranty claim.

Vehicle Paint & Removal

The condition of the vehicle underneath the wrap matters.

Automotive vinyl is generally designed to be removable from properly prepared, sound OEM paint when appropriately installed and removed. However, GrafX cannot guarantee damage-free removal from every vehicle or surface.

Risk may increase when a vehicle has:

  • Repainted or aftermarket paint
  • Failing or peeling clear coat
  • Existing paint damage
  • Rust or corrosion
  • Body repairs
  • Poor surface preparation
  • Previous adhesive or wrap damage
  • Other compromised surfaces

GrafX does not cover paint peeling, clear-coat failure, repainting, body repair, or other vehicle damage occurring during or after installation or removal.

Environmental Conditions & Expected Performance

Environment can significantly affect the appearance and service life of automotive vinyl.

As a general guide, material exposed to high UV, extreme heat, humidity, dust, pollution, severe weather, or prolonged outdoor exposure may age faster than material used in milder conditions or stored indoors.

Environmental exposure and expected service life are separate from GrafX's limited manufacturing-defect warranty. The warranty does not guarantee that every installation will maintain its original appearance for two full years regardless of climate, storage, installation, or vehicle use

Vinyl Wrap Care

Proper care can help maintain your wrap's appearance and performance.

  • Avoid washing the vehicle for at least 48 hours after installation.
  • Hand washing is recommended using clean water, a pH-neutral automotive soap, and a soft microfiber wash mitt or sponge.
  • Dry using a clean microfiber towel.
  • Remove bird droppings, tree sap, insects, fuel, road grime, and other contaminants promptly using vinyl-safe cleaning methods.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, abrasive cleaners, aggressive degreasers, and incompatible detailing products.
  • Avoid automatic car washes when possible.
  • Never direct high-pressure water closely at seams, edges, corners, or areas that have begun lifting.
  • Do not use abrasive polish or traditional wax unless confirmed safe for the particular vinyl finish.
  • Vinyl-safe ceramic coatings may be used when compatible with the specific film and finish.
  • Matte, satin, chrome, carbon-fiber-style, and specialty finishes may require different care methods.

Filing a Warranty Claim

If you believe an eligible GrafX product has developed a covered defect, contact us within 7 days of discovering the issue.

We may request:

  • Your GrafX order number and proof of purchase
  • Product/color information
  • Clear photographs and videos of the affected material
  • A description of the issue
  • The date the issue was first noticed
  • Whether the material has been installed
  • Installation date, if applicable
  • Installer information, invoice, or work order when applicable
  • Installation photographs when available

Please retain the affected material and relevant packaging until your claim has been resolved.

Providing the requested information does not automatically guarantee warranty approval. GrafX will review the available evidence to determine whether the issue qualifies as a covered material defect.

Most complete warranty claims are reviewed within approximately 7–14 business days after all requested information has been received.

If additional information is requested and we do not receive a response within the stated timeframe provided in our communication, the claim may be closed. A new review may be required if you contact us afterward.

Warranty Resolution

If GrafX confirms a covered material defect, the available remedy will be determined based on the circumstances of the claim and applicable law.

This limited warranty applies to the original eligible product purchased from GrafX and is non-transferable.

A warranty attached to one purchase does not transfer to another roll, product, vehicle, customer, or future order. Each eligible GrafX product begins its own applicable warranty period based on its original purchase date.
